23600.110    Young, Lit & Free: Creative & Performance Writing     Jan-Apr - 2020

Registration Closed

These weekly after-school workshops serve as a creative outlet for teens interested in creative writing and spoken word. The Listening encourages students to use their own stories and experiences to create original poetry and craft their performance styles. The goal of this club is to help students create performance pieces that will build their creative development, self-confidence and self-awareness, as well as social and cultural awareness. Register by 1/26. Drop-ins welcome.

The Listening also seeks to offer creative and performance writing workshops with the LIT KIT curriculum, from GET LIT-WORDS IGNITE, a non-profit organization seeking to increase teen literacy through in-school programs that fuse classic poetry with spoken word.
